Programme Description

The competencies in this module cover the knowledge of single and three phase ac induction motor starters especially electronic soft starters and variable speed drives. starters and variable speed drives.
Those credited with these competencies are able to identify and describe the operating principles of variable speed drives, electronic soft starters as well as the common type of reduced voltage starters used in industry. They will also be able to wire up, programme and operate a variable speed drive with a motor using the user manual;wire up, programme and operate a soft starter with a motor using the user manual.The competencies encompassed in this module is equivalent to Level 5 of the National Qualifications for Electrical Fitter Mechanic.
