Programme Description

The programme is intended for those who wish join the the electrical industry as motor rewinders or repairman for three phase ac induction motors. It is specifically for people who have responsibility for preparing motors for rewinding. Those credited with competencies in this module are able to dismantle, inspect electric machines, strip out windings, prepare stator for coil insertion, connecting and testing coils as per industry practice. The competencies encompassed in this module is equivalent to Level 4 of the National Qualifications for Electrical Fitter Mechanic.

Course Learnings

*  Dismantle and inspect three-phase motor,  *  Record winding data, demonstrate knowledge of insulation and describe coil winding and testing methods,  *  Strip out windings and repair casing and prepare stator,  * Wind insert and connect coil groups,  *  Demonstrate understanding of varnishing the winding,  Reassemble and test the three-phase stator,
