Programme Description

People credited with competencies covered in this module are able to plan and prepare for maintenance of electrical equipment, maintain electrical equipment and associated circuits, and notify completion and document results of maintenance of electrical equipment.The competencies  standards covered encompassed in this module is equivalent to Level 5 of the National Qualifications for Electrical Fitter Mechanic.

Course Learnings

*  Demonstrate knowledge of circuit protection terms and principles and circuit protection devices,  *  Demonstrate knowledge of residual current devices (RCDs) and their characteristics,  *  Select circuit protection devices for electrical applications,  *  Demonstrate knowledge of causes and effects of excess current in electrical circuits and means of protecting against excess current,  * Demonstrate knowledge of earthing of appliances and fittings,  *  Demonstrate the knowledge of protective devices used in distribution systems,
