Programme Description

This module specifies the competency required in identifying site boundaries and survey indicators, establishing, measuring and setting up of profiles to set out for buildings and structural components of building work. This unit includes the positioning of a building and associated structures on a site. The underpinning knowledge to use various types of level for setting out will be an advantage for the participants carrying out the setting out during the practical task. The knowledge and skills from this module will enhance the participants to set the profiles to a given level, mark to size for the building on the profile, check diagonals and transfer marks to ground for excavation work.

Set out first line for building alignment,   
Set out right angled corners,   
Install other building lines   
Check building lines for Squareness and make adjustment if needed,    
Construct profile; transfer mark on profile boards and check for Squareness,
