Programme Description

This unit of competency specifies the outcomes required to erect and dismantle restricted height scaffold, select materials, plan and organize scaffolding work in the building industry. The underpinning knowledge and the skills will enhance participants to apply knowledge for use of different types of scaffolding in the construction industry for the various tasks. The hand-on practical will be assessed with the modular and framed scaffolding that is mostly used in construction industry by the carpenters. The practical skills will enhance participants to design the layout of scaffolding to simple structure, calculate the components needed for the required scaffolding for the same assemble and dismantle scaffolding to given site.

Demonstrate the handling and erection of scaffolding,
Carryout inspections, repairs and alters scaffold,
Dismantle erected scaffolding using proper procedure and cleanup workplace
