Cabinet Making & Joinery Modules

Programme Description

This module is designed to meet the requirements for participants with knowledge and skills to apply woodworking principles in unit\'s measurement, planning and design, basic processes, hand tools, powered machinery, assembly and finishing, etc. Projects will consist of participant\'s selection of cabinet designs or furniture .The competencies  encompassed in this module is equivalent to Level 4 of the National Qualifications for Cabinet Making and Joinery trade. 

Course Learnings

Identify design of wood dining chairs,   
Demonstrate fundamentals of wood dining chairs            
Demonstrate woodshop techniques & safety                
Demonstrate Power tool use & safety                              
Select tools and equipment and prepare materials for the construction of wood dining chairs 
Select proper joinery joint (wooden dining chair)    
Assemble project to design specification       
Carry out surface preparation   
Apply finishing for the job
