Programme Description

This module is designed to develop participant\'s knowledge and skills when working on residential air conditioning within the domestic and commercial sectors of the refrigeration and air conditioning industry. This includes the relevant codes of good practice, the construction, operation and the application of system components. The course will also help in developing their skills in the selection, installation and commissioning of residential air conditioning systems.  The competencies encompassed in this module is equivalent to Level 4 of the National Qualifications for Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Trade.

Course Learnings

Isolate and test single and three phase supply
Test motor winding resistance
Determine required connection for star and delta
Read electrical diagrams; identify contactor terminals and power/control circuits 
Identify protection device used on single phase motors
