Programme Description
This module covers Light Automotive Engine Overhaul & Measurement. Contained within this course is instruction on how to identify component functions, characteristics, and procedure in engine overhaul and measurements. It is also designed to cover the competencies required to overhaul and measure engine components. The module includes engine removal from vehicle, engine dismantling, engine components cleaning, engine components measurement, and data analysis, engine assembling as well as managing and maintaining our environment during work. Each competency covered in this programme will link to the level 4 of the Automotive National Qualifications.



Course Learnings
Awareness of measuring tools usage,
Developing Skills in correct usage of engine measuring tools,
Knowledge on measuring crankshaft ovality, tapper, endplay physical conditions
Knowledge on measuring camshaft ovality, tapper, endplay physical conditions
Measuring cylinder bore to piston clearance, cylinder ridge, scores, tapper, and ovality,
Cylinder head warpage, cracks, scores and physical damage,
Valve to valve guide clearance,
Valve grinding, spring straightness, spring free length,
Piston ring groove clearance, ring end gap,
Adjusting tappet, Fitting timing belt and chain, distributor timing, 
Special Tools and Operating Equipment
