Programme Description
The competencies in this module deals with the knowledge and skills required to assist qualified trade persons in the welding and fabrication industry. The module utilises competency based approaches to measure trainee outcomes. Non-destructive testing or NDT is a wide group of analysis techniques used in science and technology industry to evaluate the properties of a material, component or system without causing damage.The terms nondestructive examination (NDE), nondestructive inspection (NDI), and nondestructive evaluation (NDE) are also commonly used to describe this technology. NDT does not permanently alter the material being inspected, but it is a highly valuable technique that can save both money and time in product evaluation, troubleshooting, and research. The competencies  encompassed in this module is equivalent to Level 4 of the National  Qualification for Welding and Fabrication.
