Programme Description
The competencies covered  in this module, deals with the knowledge and skills required to prepare participants to become part of the fabrication and welding industry.This module prepares the learner to a standard of practical proficiency, and is suitable for a wide range of individuals, self-employed, adults wishing to further hone  their skills by pursuing specialised modules. The competencies  encompassed in this module is equivalent to Level 4 of the National  Qualification for Welding and Fabrication. 
Course Learnings
Demonstrate fundamental knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act of Fiji  
Identify and describe the various hand and power tools used in the welding and fabrication industry,
Identify hand operated lifting equipment   
Demonstrate knowledge of ferrous and non-ferrous metals,  
Demonstrate fundamental knowledge of engineering drawing   
Understand common SI Units, prefixes and mathematical number notations 
Understand basic algebra, solve and transpose simple algebraic equations 
Demonstrate understanding of welding consumables   
Demonstrate basic understanding of arc welding processes (MMAW)
