Programme Description

This course is designed to provide the participant with the knowledge to define common terms, describe the function of components and the system operation and skills to explain and apply the fundamentals of air conditioning. The types of ventilation systems and their applications are covered including the application of psychrometric chart and total heat calculations. The competencies  encompassed in this module is equivalent to Level 4 National Qualification for Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Trade.

Course Learnings

Describe the scope and application of air conditioning, comfort conditions and any standard codes applicable,
Apply the principles of psychrometrics to plot, and determine the properties of air on a psychrometric chart,
Determine estimated heat load quantities using check figures and data recorded,
Identify and interpret the different air conditioning processes
Determine the temperatures of air using a sling psychrometer
