Programme Description

This course introduces the participants to the types of domestic refrigerators and freezers, their components and functions. The participants will also be taken through the safety precautions as well as the application of the test and repair procedures and equipment. The competencies encompassed in this module is equivalent to Level 4 of the National Qualifications for Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Trade.

Course Learnings

Identify various components and explain their functions in domestic refrigerators and freezers,
Identify the dangers and observe safety procedures in the installation and repair of domestic refrigerators and freezers,
Identify, repair or replace electrical and refrigeration faults on domestic refrigerators and freezers,
Use manufacturer\'s catalogues/service manuals to select replacement parts or components, 
Carry out work on various types of Domestic Refrigeration Systems
