The module provides the learner with a thorough understanding of handling and application of basic hand and power tools.  The module also covers the procedures to correctly pump down an operating refrigeration unit in accordance with appropriate Codes and CFC / HCFC Legislative requirements. The competencies  encompassed in this module is equivalent to Level 4 National Qualification for Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Trade,
Course Learnings
Describe how to handle and use basic tools in the RAC industry
Describe accurately and neatly cut and bend copper tube,
Silver braze  copper, brass and bundy tube using oxy / acetylene or its  equivalent and dry nitrogen
Correctly make and replace refrigeration gaskets,
Understand the various access vales and gauge manifolds
Correctly pump down an operating refrigeration unit in accordance with appropriate Codes and CFC / HCFC Legislative requirements
