Programme Description
In today\'s increasingly matrixed work environment, managing projects that cross job functions, geographies, and seniority is increasingly commonplace. Yet it is estimated that up to 70% of projects do not meet their original objectives, stay within their defined scope, schedule or agreed-to budget. This course offers the knowledge and skills for developing a clear project scope and schedule, and sets the foundation for further courses that deal with budgets, risks, quality and project leadership. The course blends theoretical concepts with the relevant tools and techniques for project scope and time management, and explores practical examples and case studies to deal with real life projects.   Project Management is a methodical approach to planning and guiding project processes from start to finish. It is also a set of principles, practices, and techniques applied to lead project teams and control project schedule, cost, and risks to result in delighted customers. Projects can be defined as a complex, non-routine, one-time effort limited by time, budget, resources, and performance specifications designed to meet customer needs. The need for project management is driven by businesses that realize the benefits of organizing work around projects and the critical need to communicate and co-ordinate work across departments and professions.
