Course Name | Material Flow Cost Accounting |
---|---|
Department | Department of National Productivity and Industry Innovation |
Programme Description | Material Flow Cost Accounting (MFCA) is an instrument used by manufacturing companies to improve their material efficiency. MFCA is a management tool focusing on the optimization of resources utilized in the operational flow. It examines the use of materials and energy as well as the waste produced, propose the treatment of waste as resources, and therefore contribute to reductions in emissions and non-products, more efficient utilization of resources, and improved productivity. MFCA reduces waste and costs of operation of business and allows increasing productivity. MFCA will help manufacturing industry to reduce waste and costs and thus increase profits and overall productivity. It has also a powerful technique to address issues of productivity enhancement as well as environmental protection. |
Course Learnings | Determine ways to improve coordination and communication on material and energy use within organisations , Apply your knowledge to increase transparency regarding material and energy flows and the respective costs , Demonstrate basic understanding of Material Flow Cost Accounting (MFCA) , Relate your skills and knowledge to support organisational decisions in areas such as process engineering, production planning, quality control, product design and supply chain management , Evaluate and redesign the production process to reduce material waste, energy consumption, and system costs , Measure true cost associated to material losses analyse and develop strategies on the basis of material flow cost accounting to reduce losses in the process Utilize and optimize the supply chain by focusing on communication, cost reduction, and technological improvement to reduce environmental effects. |
