Pest Management is vital for all food establishments. It is an important part of Good Manufacturing practices in food industry. Pest are not only a nuisance, but they can lead to significant loss in product, regulatory action and business reputation. Pests can carry a wide range of diseases causing organisms that can cause harm to consumers and staff processing and food handling staff. They also cause physical contamination of ingredients and processed products for example, droppings, shed fur and feathers, body parts, nesting material and damaged packaging. Pest control programme should be implemented throughout the entire processing facility to eliminate pests (such as rodents, birds, reptiles, and insects) that may harbor or be a vector for a variety of pathogens. Application of pest management strategies yields several significant benefits, including effective food safety and quality assurance in the plant, reduced risk of product loss, and enhanced brand reputation and consumer satisfaction. This programme is design to help organisation implement an effective pest control maangement systems to prevent food cross contamination from pest activities
