Programme Description | 6S is a quality and productivity improvement tool that many multi-national companies have implemented and benefited from. 6S stands for Seiri (Sort), Seiton (Set), Seiso (Shine), Seiketsu (Standardization), Shitsuke (Sustain) and Safety. It is an integrated approach towards continual improvement and improving workplace culture. Essentially, it represents good housekeeping that entails the effective organisation of the workplace and maintenance of standard conditions and discipline required to do a good job. A visitor's first impression of a business is important since image affects the amount of business it does. An organised workplace projects order, care, and pride. 6S is one of the suggested Process Improvement Methods in the Employment Relations (Labor-Management Consultation and Co-operation Committee, LMCCC) Regulations 2008. |
