Programme Description
The Postgraduate Diploma in Nursing (Eye Care) aims to provide students with values, attitudes, knowledge and skills in eye care that will enable them to provide effective and comprehensive eye care services throughout the Pacific. This effectiveness will be evaluated with respect to the whole person, thus emphasizing not only the academic outcomes, but also, the outcomes of patient centered, holistic and culturally sensitive eye care. Such an approach to eye care provision will likely more effectively reduce the burden of blindness in the Pacific region.

Minimum Requirement
1. Bachelor in Nursing degree or equivalent 
2. A nursing qualification in Advanced Diploma/ Diploma in Nursing permitting registration in the Pacific and  minimum of 1-year work experience (post internship) in a health-related field. 
3. Observation in an eye clinic for at least one month to ensure interest and motivation to pursue a career in ophthalmology.
