Programme Description
The programme is two years full-time programme. Graduates will be competently equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills for providing health care, nursing and advice on the health and welfare of farm, companion and aquatic animals.
Majors Animal Health
Minimum Requirement
a) Applicant  who  has  graduated Fiji  Year  13 Certificate Examination (without scaling of marks) in the year 2015 and subsequent years with a minimum of 200 marks and pass (50%) in English, Math, Biology/Agriculture/Chemistry and any one from the   following subjects such as Biology/Agriculture/Chemistry/Geography/Food  & Nutrition Technology/ Physics/Computer Science/Economics/Introduction to Technology.                                                                                       

b) Applicant who has graduated Fiji Seventh Form Examination (with scaling of marks) before the year 2015 with a minimum of 250 marks and pass (50%) in English, Math, Biology/Agriculture/Chemistry and any one from the following subjects such as Biology/Agriculture/Chemistry/Geography/Food & Nutrition Technology/ Physics/Computer Science/Economics/ Introduction to Technology.

c) The Applicants who have passed Foundation Course with English, Mathematics, and Biology or Agriculture Biology (Trade Diploma in Agriculture Unit) or Forest Biology (Trade Diploma in Forestry Unit) unit/ Chemistry are also eligible for admission.

d) Applicants with qualification of Trade Diploma in Agriculture/ Trade Diploma in Forestry/ Trade Diploma in Agroforestry/Diploma in Tropical Forestry/ Trade Diploma in Wood processing and Value Adding/ Trade Diploma in Animal Husbandry/ Trade Diploma in Applied Fisheries/ Trade Diploma in Aquaculture/Trade Diploma in Agricultural Engineering are also eligible for admission.

e) Applicants with Diploma in Tropical Agriculture are also eligible to apply for admission.

f) Applicants with Higher Education Certificate in Animal Care & Management are eligible for admission in first Trimester of second year of the Higher Education Diploma in Animal Health programme. All the units of Higher Education Certificate in Animal Care & Management except Educational Tour and Industrial Attachment will be cross credited with the units of first year Higher Education Diploma in Animal Health programme.

g) Applicants may also be admitted to the programme who may not meet the requirement on the years of continuous education progression, but who are able to demonstrate their ability to succeed in the respective programmes on the basis of their maturity, work experience or prior learning and are 21 years of age. The Dean may require such an applicant to sit for any specific or general examination as a prerequisite for any such enrolment, or may restrict enrolment only to certain prescribed units that must be passed to progress further as per the UASR.
