With each step, women redefine what it means to be limitless, an inspiration to all women to break barriers and embrace inclusivity in every sphere of life.

This was the powerful statement made by Varanisese Tagimaucia, a Fiji National University Lecturer with the College of Humanities and Education, at Natabua Campus in Lautoka.

Tagimaucia’s statement was made while officiating as chief guest at the International Women’s Day celebration.

Not only is she a lecturer, but also a physical educator and a health and wellness enthusiast.

“This year’s theme (Inspire Inclusion) resonates deeply with me, as it calls upon us to imagine a world where bias, stereotypes, and discrimination have no place – a world where diversity is not just accepted, but celebrated; where every individual, regardless of gender, is given equal opportunities to thrive,” said Tagimaucia.

She recently returned from India, embarking on her PhD journey.

Tagimaucia reminded all staff that practising inclusivity began with themselves.

“It is about recognising the inherent worth and dignity of every individual around us, regardless of gender, race, or background,” she added.

“It is about creating spaces where everyone feels valued, respected, and empowered to fulfill their potential.”

She highlighted that in this 21st century, women had greatly succeeded in life shattering the confines of traditional roles, transcending beyond specific workspaces to conquer new horizons, including academia and even in male-dominated areas.

“Let us celebrate the achievements of women around the world and especially here at the best campus, raise awareness about discrimination, and take action to drive meaningful change,” she added.
