School of Mathematical & Computing Sciences go Blended!

CFEL ran its latest blended development workshop for the School of Mathematical & Computing Sciences (SMCS) at the Natabua Campus in Lautoka. SMCS, under the College of Engineering, Science & Technology (CEST) has the paved the way for more blended learning programmes to be developed for the College to increase access to its high demand programmes. SMCS have prioritized their Information Systems courses for rollout in 2020 and following the workshop, development commences shortly. Head of School, Mr. Bimal Kumar appreciated the input from CFEL and the opportunity for his team to learn more about blended development the right way. The daylong session consisted of t

he fundamentals of blended learning/ development, from storyboarding to Moodle implementation and the blended course design quality audit; exploration of Open Educational Resources (OER), creating online lectures, and good practice tidbits for online learning and facilitation. Similar workshops are being planned for the Suva and Labasa based SMCS teams in the coming months.
