Fiji National University’s (FNU), Naduna Campus in Labasa is ready to open its doors to secondary school students and members of the public for its highly anticipated Open Day 2023 from October 5-6.

The campus academic and support staff are eager to interact with the enthusiastic students, parents, and visitors to explore the world of education and innovation that the University offers in the Northern Division.

Head of Campus, Pardeep Lal said the Naduna Campus Open Day will be a platform to showcase the institution’s commitment to academic excellence, research, and community engagement. This annual event has become a cherished tradition, allowing prospective students to get a firsthand look at the vibrant academic life that awaits them.

“The secondary school students will be treated to a diverse array of interactive exhibits and demonstrations across the campus. From science and technology to the arts and humanities, every department have something exciting to share,” Lal said.

“Prospective students and their parents can be engaged in one-on-one discussions with academic staff members and current students. These interactions will allow them to gain insights into academic programmes, career prospects, and campus life. It will be a valuable opportunity to address their questions and concerns directly.”

Lal said that for the first time ever, the campus will host the Open Day for two consecutive days to allow the students and people from the communities to make the most of the Open Day and learn as much as possible.

“After the Open Day, when the sun sets in the mountains near Naduna Campus, we will be satisfied that we have assisted students as much as possible with the information they needed to excel,” Lal said.

“It would leave behind a sense of anticipation and excitement. Prospective students will depart with a glimpse into the promising future that awaits them at the Naduna Campus. For us, it would mean another successful year of bridging the gap between education and the community, reinforcing its commitment to fostering the leaders of tomorrow.
