The Minister for Health and Medical Services, Honourable Dr Ratu Atonio Rabici Lalabalavu, has assured his ministry will work with the Fiji National University (FNU) to enhance the country’s medical sector.

Honourable Dr Lalabalavu was the Chief Guest at FNU’s College of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences (CMNHS) graduation ceremony at the Vodafone Arena today.

“The Ministry of Health and Medical Services is also committed to working closely with the Fiji National University and the College of Medicine, Nursing, and Health Sciences in educating our future leaders and specialists in health service and in continuing to improve the health service in Fiji and the health status for our people,” Honourable Dr Lalabalavu said.

“To the graduates, you are now responsible for using your education to serve our people. You will soon join the health service, where you will be directly or indirectly responsible for the lives of your fellow citizens and others who put their trust in the system.”

“Never underestimate the influence you will have in your communities. In your profession, you will face daily hurdles, challenging patients and unforgiving circumstances. You will become a shoulder to cry and lean on, a hand to hold and a guiding light when people are in dire medical need. And with these challenges comes the fulfilment of having served your community, and helping a fellow man through their time of hardship and into good health and wellbeing.”
