International Student Mentorship Programme (ISMP)

Posted On: February 5, 2020

Centre for Learning & Teaching Enhancement embarked on its new initiative this semester; International Student Mentorship Programme (ISMP). ISMP is a volunteer peer-mentor programme in which new international students (known as “mentees”) are connected with current FNU students (known as “mentors”) who volunteer their time to help mentees settle into the University and life in Fiji. Mentorship is a key element in personal development and growth and can provide valuable lessons to both mentor and mentee. Training sessions for ISMP were held at Natabua Campus, Lautoka on 4th February, 2020 and Pasifika Campus, Suva on 8th February, 2020. Sessions were attended by budding peer mentors, who were enlightened on what peer mentoring is, why peer mentoring is needed, the benefits and rewards, roles and responsibilities, and guidelines and advice.
