Graduates reminded to use what they learned at FNU

Education is not just about gaining knowledge for personal growth; it is about using that knowledge to contribute to the betterment of society.

This was the reminder from the Minister for Public Works, Transport and Meteorological Services Honourable Ro Filipe Tuisawau to the students who graduated today from the Fiji National University (FNU).

A total of 489 stuydents graduated, with 392 males, 97 females, and 42 regional and international students.

“Every piece of knowledge you have acquired, every skill you have developed, is a tool that can help build the future of our nation,” Honourable Ro Filipe said.

“As graduates, you are the future leaders in your respective fields. You will face challenges, the road ahead may not always be smooth, but I have no doubt that you have been equipped with the resilience, skills, and determination to overcome them. You are entering industries that are essential to the advancement of our nation, and I urge you to never underestimate the impact of your work.”

Vice-Chancellor Professor Unaisi Nabobo-Baba said at FNU, it understood the ever-evolving nature of the job market.

Today we celebrate the diversity of talent, the richness of experiences, and the boundless potential that each of you possesses. You have worked tirelessly, demonstrated unwavering commitment, and overcome challenges, and today, we are here to honour those accomplishments,” Professor Nabobo-Baba said.

“Through constant collaboration with industries, we ensure that our graduates are prepared not just academically but are equipped with the practical skills and knowledge needed to excel. The growing industries in engineering, technical, and vocational sectors require dynamic, skilled professionals, and we are proud that FNU students are leading the way.”
