The Fiji National University (FNU) travelled 197 kilometres from Labasa town to Napuka Secondary School to meet and discuss with the teachers and students about the programmes and courses offered by FNU as part of their Career Discovery for High School tour that is currently underway in the Northern Division.

Close to 50 students from Year 12 and Year 13 attended the Career Discovery session organised by the FNU team.

Home Economics teacher, Vani Baleinailuva, said the students looked forward to the session.  Baleinailuva is also a current student at the Fiji National University, pursuing Bachelors of Home Economics and Education.

“I am grateful to the Fiji National University for coming all the way to our school to help our students despite our remote location,” she said.

Baleinailuva said that she has been based at the school for close to 10 years, and the teachers and students are like a family.

“This session was very important and beneficial to all our students. Most of the students will be going to Viti Levu for further studies, and the session provided them with the opportunity to know more and explore the options available to them at FNU.”

The Northern leg of the Career Discovery for High School tour will continue till the 28th of July.
