FNU to commence high school outreach visits

Press Release Posted On: June 13, 2023

FNU’s Outreach teams will be visiting high schools across the country from this month.

The Fiji National University (FNU) will commence with its nationwide ‘Career Discover for High School Students’ outreach visits next week.

The annual high school visits by the University will ensure that upper-level high school students are provided with first-hand information on FNU’s programmes, entry pathways, University highlights and career opportunities aligned to potential fields of study.

The visits will commence in the Central Division on 19 June 2023 for two weeks. This will be followed by the Western Division from 3-14 July, and the North from 17-28 July, 2023.

FNU Acting Vice-Chancellor, Professor Unaisi Nabobo-Baba, said the visits emphasised the University’s commitment in ensuring its prospective students were well-informed before making decisions on further studies.

“We value our prospective students as much as our current and graduate students,” she highlighted.

“These visits by our Outreach team and College representatives will ensure that every high school student who may have queries and confusion can clear these doubts with the FNU team and learn how we can provide them with the platform to study and achieve their academic and professional ambitions.”

“Students must realise that there is not only one clear pathway of studying. If you are facing difficulties or may not have met the requirements needed, there is always a way to pursue your education.”

“This is especially true for FNU, as we provide both trade and higher education programmes in line with our dual-sector nature.”

A virtual session will be conducted for maritime schools in the first week of August.
