FNU Partners with EC-Council to Bolster Cybersecurity Workforce

The Fiji National University (FNU), in a significant move to enhance the cybersecurity landscape in Fiji, has announced a partnership with the EC-Council.

This collaboration positions FNU as the first academic partner for the EC-Council in Fiji. The partnership will equip FNU students under the National Training and Productivity Centre (NTPC) with cutting-edge cybersecurity training and certifications, empowering them to tackle cyber threats effectively.

Acting NTPC Director, Bob Mitchell shared that this partnership would see to the training of individuals with the expertise needed to address and excel in the ever-evolving cybersecurity landscape.

“In its bid to make cybersecurity training more accessible, FNU has partnered with EC-Council to assist current and aspiring cyber professionals in advancing their careers. This initiative aims to equip them with the knowledge and skills organisations need to protect them against the increasingly complex nature of cybersecurity threats,” said Mitchell.

“Cybersecurity is crucial because it protects all categories of data from theft and damage, including sensitive data, personal information, intellectual property, and industry information systems.”

According to EC Council Group President, Jay Bavisi, EC-Council is committed to driving cybersecurity excellence and nurturing innovation.

FNU students will gain access to industry-coveted EC-Council certification programmes, including the Certified Ethical Hacker (C|EH), Computer Hacking Forensic Investigator (C|HFI), Certified Network Defender (C|ND), and Certified Incident Handler (ECIH).

Best known for its Certified Ethical Hacker programme, the EC-Council is an ISO/IEC 17024 Accredited Organization recognised under the U.S. Defense Department Directive 8140/8570 and many other authoritative cybersecurity bodies worldwide.

EC-Council offers training, certificates, and degrees on a wide spectrum of subjects from computer forensic investigation and security analysis to threat intelligence and information security.
