The Fiji National University proudly hosted yet another remarkable Fiji Business Excellence Awards (FBEA) night at Nadi’s prestigious Sheraton Fiji Golf and Beach Resort on Saturday.

Hosted by the FNU’s National Training and Productivity Centre, the annual event brought together outstanding organisations and leaders from across the nation to celebrate exceptional achievements in business.

Officiating at his final public engagement, outgoing President of Fiji, His Excellency, Ratu Wiliame Katonivere shared that the milestone Silver Jubilee commemorating 25 years of recognising and honouring business excellence throughout Fiji, was indeed worthy of celebration.

“The Gala event is an opportunity for us to celebrate past accomplishments, reflect on how far we have come, and set our sights on the future of business and productivity in our nation,” said His Excellency.

“Since its inception, the Fiji Business Excellence Awards has recognised 136 organisations and presented 305 awards over the past 24 years. This achievement symbolises the commitment and hard work of Fijian organisations across all sectors.”

His Excellency also acknowledged the leadership powerhouse of FNU; the Chancellor and Chair of Council, Mr Semesa Karavaki, Vice-Chancellor, Professor Unaisi Nabobo-Baba, and all members of the FNU Council.

“I extend my appreciation for your continued support and dedication to nurturing excellence in education and productivity across the nation. Your leadership inspires the broader community, encouraging us all to aim higher,” he added.

In her welcome address, Professor Nabobo-Baba said that marking 25 years of celebrating and promoting business excellence across Fiji, was a true testament to the resilience, innovation, and dedication of Fijian businesses and organisations that have embraced the pursuit of excellence.

FNU Vice-Chancellor, Professor Unaisi Nabobo-Baba.

“Since the inception of these awards in 1999, we have witnessed the transformative power of business excellence frameworks in shaping industries and helping organisations reach new heights of achievement,” highlighted Professor Nabobo-Baba.

“This Silver Jubilee is a reminder that the pursuit of excellence is not a destination, but an ongoing journey – a commitment to continuous improvement that strengthens our economy and our society.

“The awards provide a platform for organisations to showcase their commitment to quality, innovation, and customer-driven excellence – values that resonate deeply with Fiji National University and our mission to foster education, leadership, and productivity.”
