The stage is set for the 23rd Fiji Business Excellence Awards (FBEA), which will be held tomorrow, November 5 at the Grand Pacific Hotel in Suva.

The annual event is organised by the Fiji National University’s (FNU), National Training and Productivity Centre (NTPC).

NTPC’s Manager Quality Awards, Bob Mitchell said FBEA is the most popular event which is looked forward to by business organisations in the country.

“The strong support from industry and government is key to the success of NTPC’s Business Excellence initiative,” Mitchell said.

“The organisations, in the past, have benefitted immensely from their participation in the awards process and have continued to use the framework of the award as an organisational self-assessment tool for recognition. His Excellency, the President of the Republic of Fiji, has always been associated with the awards since its inception.”

Mitchell said Fiji’s Business Excellence Framework assisted organisations in creating a dynamic environment, focus on strategy-driven performance, achieve customer and workforce engagement, and improve governance and ethics, societal responsibilities, competitiveness, and long-term organisational sustainability.

“It is a night for celebration for all the award winners for their hard work, resilience, and reflection on their business excellence journey during the most challenging period after COVID-19. It is also a night for best practice sharing by the winners and encouraging other Fijian organisations to come on board,” he said.

FBEA is a set of national awards designed to improve productivity and quality in organisations.

It aims to promote business excellence by providing a framework or criteria for performance and excellence based on similar principles to those of other international awards.

There are four categories in which businesses can apply: Commitment to Business Excellence, Achievement in Business Excellence, Fiji Business Excellence Prize, and President’s Award.
