FNU gears up for the April 2024 Graduation

The Fiji National University (FNU) is gearing up for its first graduation event of the year, set to take place this month.

Approximately 1590 students are poised to receive their certificates of qualification from FNU during the graduation ceremonies slated for this month.

FNU’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor Unaisi Nabobo-Baba, expressed anticipation for the ceremonies, noting that they mark a significant milestone for graduands, their families, and the university community.

“After years of dedication and hard work, our students are finally ready to celebrate their academic achievements,” Professor Nabobo-Baba said.

The April Graduation will encompass four sessions at the Vodafone Arena in Suva from 16-18 April, 2024 followed by a ceremony in Labasa on24 March, 2024.

“I commend each and every student who is graduating from FNU, and I am confident that they will thrive in their future endeavours,” Professor Nabobo-Baba affirmed.

“We are also proud to announce that 861 of the graduands are female, and FNU is excited to announce that it will have its first local female Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) recipient from the College of Humanities and Education (CHE) in this graduation”.

Graduates will be from FNU’s five Colleges – the College of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (CAFF), College of Humanities and Education (CHE), College of Business, Hospitality and Tourism Studies (CBHTS), College of Engineering and Technical Vocational Education and Training (CETVET), the College of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences (CMNHS), the Pacific Centre for Maritime Studies (PCMS), and the National Training and Productivity Authority (NTPC).

Professor Nabobo-Baba further highlighted that the diverse range of graduands, spanned from Certificate, Diploma, Bachelor Degree and Postgraduate recipients to the first local Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) graduate.

“The university takes great pride in our graduates, who will now serve as ambassadors for FNU in their respective communities.

“We are delighted that FNU has been chosen as the institution that has equipped and qualified these students, who will now apply the skills, knowledge, and expertise gained at the university.”
