Fiji National University (FNU) and the Unit Trust of Fiji Ltd (UTOF) signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) at the Nasinu Campus yesterday.  The MOA allows employees of FNU to be able to save and invest for their future under UTOF’s Employee Investment Scheme (EIS).

The Agreement formalises a collaboration between the two institutions to unlock the University’s potential in areas of commercial investment and increasing commercial viability.

Under the MOA, UTOF and FNU will share information, exchange ideas, hold discussions and identify projects which can be pursued in the best interests of both the university and UTOF.

Speaking at the event, Acting Vice-Chancellor, Professor Unaisi Nabobo-Baba, expressed her gratitude to UTOF for coming on board to boost economic progress and prosperity for not only the University but the nation as a whole.

“I would like to express my gratitude to the Unit Trust of Fiji for their willingness to partner with us in this initiative. Their commitment to the economic prosperity of our nation is evident in their willingness to support this programme, and we are grateful for their support,” said Professor Nabobo-Baba.

She also spoke extensively about the various benefits of the Employee Benefit Scheme.

“Our employees are at the heart of our institution, and their growth and well-being are essential to our mission of providing quality education and contributing to the development of our beloved Fiji.”

She added that the Employment Investment Scheme (EIS) was a forward-looking initiative that supports and empowers working Fijians to save and invest for their future.
