COVID-19 update by SMG

Posted On: March 19, 2020

To all members of FNU staff and students

As you may have heard in the media, the Minister of Health and Medical Services announced this afternoon that a patient who is isolated in Lautoka Hospital has tested positive for Covid-19.

The Cabinet is presently considering the national strategy for containment and the Prime Minister is expected to make an announcement this afternoon.  The Senior Management Group (SMG) has developed extensive contingency plans to continue teaching online should the campuses have to close for a short period.

The SMG is meeting at 5:30pm this evening to review the Prime Minister’s announcement and determine the best course of action.  The University will announce its contingency plans early this evening on FNU PR, FNU social media pages and our website.
