In its first proper outing at the annual Fiji National University (FNU) Open Day, the Centre for Flexible & E-Learning (CFEL) team were part of the activities to showcase and promote its strategic work in flexible learning with emphasis on learning technologies. Over 40 high schools dropped by the CFEL booth to experience what it had on offer in terms of information videos on blended learning, user guides and manuals for Moodle, Turnitin, Open Educational Resources (OER) and interactive activities that saw students win cool prizes and participate in photo shoots with creative props. The Open Day activity ran for 2 days from 18-19 July. Held at the Valelevu grounds just outside the main Nasinu Campus, all Colleges and support sections were represented there as students took advantage of the displays and information sessions to better inform themselves of the many career opportunities they may consider after their final years of high school. CFEL showcased their activities alongside sibling Centre CLTE who provided a wide range of information on their learning support initiatives such as PAL (Peer Assisted Learning), ELH (English Language Hub) and EARS (Early Alert & Response System).
