Thirty-year-old Sera Baro, was the first to enrol at the Fiji National University (FNU) booth at the 2023 Fiji Showcase when the gates opened last Friday.

Baro, originally from Rewa, enrolled in the College of Business, Hospitality, and Tourism Studies (CBHTS) Bachelor of Banking and Finance programme to pursue her dream of working as a banker.

“I am thankful to the FNU team for assisting me in the enrollment, and the process was simple, and I managed to enrol,” she said.

“I have worked for many years and decided to study at the Fiji National University because FNU is the best for learning. I learned that FNU would be having a booth at the Fiji Showcase through the FNU Facebook page in the morning, and I decided to come and explore the opportunity.”

Baro, who is a mother of two, said education is the key to success.

“After finishing the programme at FNU, I hope to secure employment in the banking sector as this has been my dream job,” she highlighted.

“I have an excellent support system from my family, and they knew I would enrol in the programme. Though I have children to look after, I look forward to the challenges. I encourage others to come down and explore the opportunities with FNU.”
