Farzana Farin Bibi

In the midst of life’s challenges and juggling the responsibilities of both parenting and academics, Farzana Farin Bibi is not only defying the odds but also proudly marching towards a significant milestone – her graduation day.

The 26-year-old mother-of-one will graduate with a Bachelor of Hospitality and Hotel Management certificate from the Fiji National University’s (FNU), College of Business, Hospitality and Tourism Studies (CBHTS).

Bibi’s journey reflects her determination and serves as a testament to the strength and perseverance that single mothers embody.

“I find joy in the accomplishment of completing my Bachelor’s degree at Fiji National University,” she said with a smile.

“We all harbour different dreams, but the key lies in finding ways to bring them to fruition, which is through hard work and unwavering dedication.”

As she prepares to walk across the stage with her degree in hand, Bibi celebrates her academic achievement and showcases the unwavering dedication and love that propels her forward.

“Being a single mother, balancing the care of my four-year-old daughter and pursuing studies has been challenging, but with determination, nothing is impossible,” she said.

“My parents and a brother have been my pillars of strength, supporting me throughout my academic journey.”

“I find fulfilment in working within the tourism industry, interacting with guests from diverse countries and backgrounds.”

“The tourism sector plays a pivotal role in Fiji’s economy, and I take pride in contributing to it. Armed with the qualifications and skills from the FNU programme, I am better equipped to serve the people.”

Bibi is currently employed as a Guest Service Agent at the Tanoa International Hotel in Nadi.

FNU’s College of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences (CMNHS) graduation session will be held on 13 December 2023 from 9 am at the Vodafone Arena.

On the same day, the College of Business, Hospitality and Tourism Studies (CBHTS) and College of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (CAFF) graduation session will take place from 2.30pm.

The College of Engineering, Science and Technology (CEST), College of Humanities and Education (CHE), Fiji Maritime Academy (FMA) and National Training and Productivity Centre (NTPC) graduation session will be held on 14 December 2023 from 9am.
