The Fiji National University (FNU) has joined forces with the dynamic information technology company “Fiji Traders” through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that will enhance student learning at the University.

Through the partnership, Fiji Traders will provide discounts to FNU staff and students, and provide internship or attachment opportunities and allowance to at least ten students every year. This is amongst other benefits.

FNU Acting Vice-Chancellor, Professor Unaisi Nabobo-Baba, stated that this was a milestone achievement for the university and Fiji Traders.

“Both organisations have officially inked a forward-looking Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This strategic partnership sets the stage for a collaborative synergy that is poised to reshape the technological landscape while empowering students,” Professor Nabobo-Baba said.

“At FNU, we always ensure that we provide the best learning platforms to our students, and through this MoU, our students will be able to do their internships or the attachments with the Fiji Traders.”

“We are extremely proud to have joined hands and collaborated with one another. This collaboration will not only help the students but the staff as well, who will also be given discounts on certain products.”

Fiji Traders’ Sales and Marketing Director Azel Vikash Raj said the MOU is a significant step towards establishing a mutually beneficial partnership.

“Through this partnership with FNU, we aim to leverage our expertise in the field of information technology and provide cutting-edge solutions to the university. We are committed to working closely with FNU to identify their specific needs and requirements, and provide customised solutions that meet their expectations,” Raj said.

Fiji Traders’ Business Development Manager Shavneel Singh said the initiative is going to benefit the students who are the future leaders of Fiji.

“We are trying to bring in these initiatives so that the students can benefit by saving cost and learning and experiencing the actual world before graduating and entering the work industry,” he said.

“We at Fiji Traders are a team of very young people, and we also like to encourage attachés and young graduates to become young entrepreneurs by exploring and learning”.

“In this symbolic act, we pledge our allegiance to a common cause. We declare our intent to journey together to share knowledge, resources, and visions. It’s a pact that carries the weight of responsibility, a commitment to honour the promises made, and a dedication to overcome challenges along the way,”
