10/05/2021 Message from the Vice-Chancellor

Posted On: May 10, 2021

Dear staff,

Following the statement from the Permanent Secretary for Health and Medical Services, Dr James Fong, yesterday, Sunday 09.05.21, FNU would like to confirm the following working arrangements:

  • All staff who can work from home should continue to do so for the next 14 days (10 to 24 May). This decision may be reviewed in light of changing circumstances. Please contact your supervisor if you are not equipped to work from home.
  • Staff required to work on campus in order to maintain the core functions of the University will be notified by their supervisor. Any member of staff leaving home for any reason, including to work on campus, must at all times wear a face-covering, have the CareFIJI app turned on, observe strict social distancing, and practise regular hand-washing and hygiene measures.
  • All face-to-face teaching and instruction are suspended until further notice, in line with the directive from the Fiji Higher Education Commission. FNU is experienced in online teaching and assessment, and all delivery will be online during the current restrictions.

You are urged to adhere to government guidelines and restrict movements to essential travel only.

The CareFIJI app can be downloaded using the following link: http://carefiji.digitalfiji.gov.fj

Staff are advised to follow the FNU website, official FNU social media pages and check their emails for ongoing advisories regarding University operations. Refer to the links below:
