Leaving his family in Naruwai Village, Dama, Bua, to pursue studies in Labasa was one of the hardest decisions Apisalome Roko ever made. But the challenge was worth it.
Today, he proudly graduates with a Certificate in Electrical Engineering (Level 4), becoming the first in his family to complete a formal tertiary qualification.
Apisalome’s journey was fueled by a strong determination to make his parents proud.
Growing up in a family of farmers, he understood the value of hard work and sacrifice.
“I am just so happy,” he says, reflecting on the long journey from the village to Labasa and beyond.
A former student of Naikavaki College in Bua and the second eldest of three siblings, Apisalome credits his success to the unwavering support of his parents and family.
He dedicates this achievement to them, acknowledging their sacrifices and encouragement that kept him going through the challenges of living away from home.
He is currently employed by Water Authority of Fiji.
