Kumar’s Journey of Compassion and Dedication

Christine Kumar’s passion to help others during their most vulnerable moments has driven her to achieve a significant milestone in her life.

As a graduate of the Fiji National University’s College of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences, she has earned her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS), a dream she has worked tirelessly to achieve.

Her journey has been anything but easy. Christine describes it as “challenging, emotional, and deeply rewarding,” noting that it has shaped her not just academically but also personally.

“It taught me resilience, humility, and compassion,” she said.

Being the first in her family to pursue medicine makes her achievement even more meaningful.

“Yes, I am the first in my family to pursue medicine, and that makes this achievement incredibly special and emotional for me,” she shared.

Christine’s motivation stems from a sincere desire to serve her community and support those in need.

“I was inspired by a deep desire to help others during their most vulnerable moments and to serve my community with care, empathy, and purpose,” she explained.

Looking ahead, Christine said “My next step is internship training, where I hope to grow into a safe, compassionate doctor and give back through dedicated service.”
