Varitema Vasua is a teacher at Wainibuka Secondary School in Tailevu North

Varitema Vasua’s journey back to the Fiji National University was filled with pride and excitement as she returned to FNU, not as a student this time, but as a teacher.

Varitema is a proud alumnus of FNU, where she earned her Bachelor of Education degree with a focus on Accounting and Economics in 2020.

Today, she teaches at Wainibuka Secondary School in Tailevu North.

Her return to her alma mater was a special moment as she brought students from her school to visit the FNU open day at the Nasinu Campus.

“It was a proud moment for me to show my students where I studied and to inspire them,” said Varitema.

“FNU gave me the knowledge and confidence to become a teacher. Now, I want to help my students succeed just as I did.”

Varitema’s story is an inspiring example of how education can change lives. Her journey from student to teacher shows her dedication to giving back.

“I hope today’s open day experience will encourage students to decide on their future. Education is a lifelong journey, and FNU plays a vital role in crafting the future of our students.”
