Alumni and current student joined school students at Fiji National University’s (FNU) Open Day at Nasinu Campus today, creating an inspiring day of connection and exploration.

Among the visitors was FNU graduate Ifereimi Koroibola, who accompanied students from Waidina College in the interior of Naitasiri.

Koroibola earned his Bachelor of Education specialising in Industrial Arts in 2021. Today, he eagerly reflected on his university days.

“Returning to FNU as a high school teacher feels very different, yet I am happy to relive my university memories,” he said.

He explained that this was his first visit back since graduating and was pleased to see the booths set up by different colleges and centres.

“It’s a great opportunity for students to meet college representatives and learn about the programmes offered by FNU,” Koroibola added.

He also shared how the open day influenced his own career.

“When I was a student, I often wondered about my future. It was the open day that helped me decide to become a teacher,” he said.

Another teacher, Sainimili Likutavola, who is studying for a Postgraduate Diploma in Education at FNU, expressed her enthusiasm for the event.

“Usually, I attend classes online from Waidina. Coming to the open day allows me to meet my lecturers and college reps in person,” she said.

Likutavola highlighted the importance of the event in showcasing opportunities, particularly in Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET).

“The open day encourages students to explore different programmes and see the real-world opportunities available through FNU,” she added.
