A Teacher’s Day Out: Inspiring Young Minds at FNU Open Day

Ra High School teacher, Mrs. Venina with her son, Saiasi Koroi

The FNU Open Day buzzed with excitement as prospective students and their families explored the campus. Amidst the crowd, I spotted Mrs. Venina, a dedicated teacher of Ra high school, accompanied by her son, Saiasi Koroi. Their presence offered a heartwarming glimpse into the intersection of education and family.

“The atmosphere here is amazing,” Mrs Venina shared, her eyes sparkling with enthusiasm. “It’s so inspiring to see the students’ eagerness to learn and explore their options. The open day provides a fantastic opportunity for them to discover what FNU has to offer.”

When asked why she brought her son, Mrs Venina smiled. “I wanted Saiasi to experience this firsthand. It’s important for him to see the possibilities that higher education holds and to start thinking about his own future. It’s a great way to motivate him.”

As a teacher, Mrs Venina was keen on taking back valuable insights to share with her students. “I’m here to gather information about the different programs and resources available. I want to share this with my students, so they are well-informed about their options after high school. I will encourage them to explore their interests and aim high.”

Saiasi, who was captivated by the exhibits, added, “It’s really cool to see all the different programs and learn about what people are studying. It makes me think about what I want to do when I grow up.”

Mrs Venina and Saiasi’s presence at the Open Day highlighted the powerful influence of family and the importance of encouraging young minds. Their story is a testament to the inspiring role teachers play in shaping futures.
