Brief Biography:

Mrs. Ateca Yavaca-Tonu is an Assistant Instructor and former Acting Head of Campus at Fiji National University’s Bonunaqwele Nadi Campus. With a strong foundation in hospitality and tourism education, she holds a Diploma in Hotel Management (Accommodation Major), Higher Education Certificate in Tertiary Teaching (Specialised in TVET), Diploma in Tertiary Teaching and is pursuing a Bachelor of Education (TVET Specialist). With over two decades of experience in academic leadership, course delivery, and student engagement, she has successfully led curriculum development and quality assurance initiatives in higher education. Mrs. Tonu is also a seasoned project and event coordinator, having organized staff development workshops, liaised with industry partners, and represented FNU in international TVET and tourism forums. Her leadership and project management skills have positioned her as a key contributor to enhancing educational outcomes and institutional visibility both locally and internationally.
