Brief Biography:
Shivnit Chand is a passionate and dedicated culinary professional originally from Rakiraki. He began his culinary journey with tertiary education at Fiji National University, guided by mentors Mr. Sinha and Mr. Eric. His career started at McDonald’s as a part-timer, followed by an attachment at Zaika Hotel.
Equipped with foundational knowledge, he progressed to commis chef at Golden Point and later excelled at Wananavu Beach Resort under strong chef mentorship. Shivnit spent six years as a Technical Vocational Teacher at MEHA, training approximately 300 students with 50 now working internationally. He also actively participated in extracurricular activities during his teaching tenure.
His industry experience includes roles as Senior Chef de Partie at Nalagi Hotel and Sous Chef at prestigious establishments including Plantation, Tropica, and Fiji Gateway Hotel. Shivnit has developed specialized menus focusing on current food trends and dietary requirements, demonstrating leadership through modern culinary techniques and contemporary styles.
