Brief Biography:

Melvin Nitesh Chand is a Lecturer in Economics and the Head of Department for Economic Development and Sustainable Studies at the Fiji National University. He has over 14 years of experience in teaching, research, and academic leadership. Melvin holds a Master of Commerce in Economics and a Master of Education from the University of the South Pacific. He teaches a wide range of economics and finance courses, including microeconomics, development economics, and corporate finance.

Melvin is passionate about helping students grow their research and analytical skills. He has co-authored a journal article on corporate governance and economic performance and is interested in research on public finance and development policy. Melvin actively contributes to curriculum development, student mentoring, university events, and community engagement programs. He is committed to promoting inclusive education and sustainable development in Fiji.
