Unit Name: Measure Theory

Description: Measure theory is the abstract study of integration. In this course we define the Lebesgue integral associated to a measure and study the properties of this construction. We consider the various notions of convergence that naturally arise, as well as the associated Lp spaces. In the second half of this course we concentrate on Lp function spaces in greater depth, examining the interplay between a Lp spaces and their duals. Basic Hilbert and Banach space theory is introduced.
