Unit Name: Special Topics in Linguistics: Stylistics and Translation

Description: The relationship between the topics offered for study in this course will be examined and then integrated to explain the role stylistics play in translating a variety of texts, both texts that carry only primary level of meaning (weather reports, financial statements) and texts that bear implied meaning, such as literary texts. The course will draw from many different theoretical and methodological approaches. The topics will be integrated and studied in order to lead to in-depth analysis and understanding.
