Unit Code: LIT703

Unit Name: Craft of Fiction

Description: Although this course is called ?craft of fiction ?, it assumes that art is also a part of creative writing. Now art is something that cannot be taught; art is a gift, a passion, an intuition, in fact, the very soul of literature. There is some degree of mystery associated with the art of writing. Craft, however, is what can be taught, practised and perfected. Therefore this course is about that dimension of the writing process in which tools and techniques can be acquired to create new objects of art. The outcome: mastery of craft. Most likely this course on craft of writing will be taught by an established writer. Students will naturally draw inspiration from the writer/teacher.
