Unit Name: Food Safety Governance

Description: This course is aimed at strengthening the knowledge and skills of students in understanding food safety legislations and policies of food safety fit for human consumption. Therefore, national food legislations will be used as supporting tools to understand the effectiveness of the legislations in place and Policy adopted from International frameworks.

Learning Target Outcomes: On successful completion of this course, the students will be able to: 1. Evaluate food safety interventions as management tools. 2. Utilize disease outbreak data for Food Safety Controls and HACCP. 3. Integrate food standards operations and procedures in Food Safety Legislations. 4. Evaluate International Trade Food Safety Protocols & Standards requirements. 5. Demonstrate comprehension of legal labelling and packaging requirements for food. 6. Demonstrate comprehension of current local and international food protection measures.
